Terms of Service

These terms cover your use of Drefly, including every tool on this site. By using Drefly, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

What Drefly provides

Drefly provides free, browser based tools for tasks such as converting and editing PDF and Office files, working with images, editing and recording video, downloading media you have the right to save, and running AI powered tools including ones that use your own API key.

Acceptable use

You agree to use Drefly only for lawful purposes and in a way that respects the rights of others. Specifically, you agree not to:

Upload, convert, or process any file that you do not have the legal right to use.
Use the downloader tools to save content in a way that violates the terms of service, copyright, or licensing terms of the platform the content came from.
Use any tool to violate applicable law, including copyright, privacy, or export control law.
Attempt to disrupt, overload, scrape at scale, or gain unauthorized access to Drefly or the systems behind it.
Use Drefly to process illegal content of any kind, including content that harms or exploits minors.
Use any Drefly tool to harass, threaten, stalk, defame, or invade the privacy of another person, or to create or distribute content intended to abuse or exploit someone.

You are responsible for making sure your use of every tool, including the downloader, complies with the terms of service of any third party platform involved.

Your content

You retain full ownership of any file you upload or process through Drefly. As explained in our Privacy Policy, files are held only temporarily while a task runs and are deleted afterward. We do not claim any rights over your files.

Bring your own key tools

If you choose to use your own API key with a supported AI tool, you are responsible for that key, for any usage charges billed by your provider, and for complying with that provider's own terms of service.

Drefly offers an embeddable recording widget that developers and site owners can add to their own website so their visitors can send a screen recording straight to them, typically for support or bug reports. Setting it up takes a single script tag with a widget key, plus the domain or domains the widget is allowed to run on. If you set up and embed the widget on your site, the following terms apply to you in addition to the rest of this agreement.

You are responsible for the domain or domains you register a widget key to, including any wildcard subdomain you add. Drefly only accepts recordings that come from the domains you registered, and rejects requests from anywhere else.
You control where recordings your widget collects are stored, using your own cloud storage credentials. Drefly does not keep a separate copy of those recordings.
You are responsible for telling your own visitors that a recording feature is present on your site and for how you use the recordings you receive, including compliance with any recording consent law that applies to you and your visitors.
You must not use the widget to capture a visitor's screen without a visible, visitor-initiated control to start that recording. The widget itself is built to require an explicit click and the visitor's own browser permission before any capture begins, and you agree not to alter that behavior.
You must not use the widget key of another developer or account, and you must not attempt to route another site's traffic through your widget key.
Drefly can rotate, suspend, or revoke a widget key that is used outside of the domains registered to it, or in a way that violates the Acceptable use section above.

Recording and connected cloud storage

The Record tool can save a recording with a shareable link only if you connect a cloud drive that you own and control. Google Drive, Dropbox, and OneDrive are all supported. By connecting a drive, you authorize Drefly to upload the recordings you create to that drive on your behalf, and to manage the files it creates there so you can rename, share, or delete them, as described in our Privacy Policy. Connecting a drive is optional and is needed only for the shareable-link feature; every other Drefly tool, including recording and downloading a file straight to your device, works without connecting anything. You remain the owner of every recording saved to your drive, and you can disconnect Drefly's access at any time from the Recordings page.

Recording and sharing come with responsibilities specific to those tools. You agree not to:

Record any person without the consent required by the law that applies to you, including any law requiring all parties to a conversation to consent to being recorded.
Use the Record tool, its shareable links, or its comment and reaction features to harass, stalk, threaten, or surveil another person.
Create or share a recording that contains illegal content of any kind, including content that harms or exploits minors.
Use a shareable link to distribute content you do not have the right to distribute, or to circumvent the access or privacy settings of the platform the content came from.

Drefly can disable a share link or terminate access to any tool, including Record, for a violation of this section or of the Acceptable use section above.

Local file history

Drefly automatically keeps a history of files you download or share from any tool, stored only in your own browser's local storage, as described in our Privacy Policy. You can clear this history at any time from a tool's History panel or from the History page.

Local history links (URLs containing historyId) only open the saved file back up in the same browser on the same device - they are not a way to share files with other people, and Drefly does not host, transmit, or have access to the files referenced by them. You are responsible for keeping any files you care about backed up elsewhere; Drefly is not liable for history entries that become unavailable if you clear your browser data, switch browsers or devices, or use a private/incognito session.

No account, no payment

Drefly does not require you to create an account to use its tools, and we do not charge for the service, request payment, or ask for a card. Because there is no account system, we have no way to verify your identity, and you use the service as a guest under these terms.

Service availability

Drefly is provided on an as is, as available basis. We aim to keep every tool working reliably, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access, and we may change, limit, or discontinue any tool at any time.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Drefly and its operator are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service, including loss of data, loss of files, or issues caused by third party platforms or AI providers you connect to through the service.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time as Drefly changes. Continued use of the service after an update means you accept the revised terms. The date at the top of this page reflects the most recent update.
